1983 XLS Survivor

This 1983 Ford F-150 XLS is a regular-cab Flareside example which was sold new at Alan Ford in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The truck is finished in Candyapple Red over a black cloth and vinyl interior and is powered by a 4.9-liter straight-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, a push-button AM/FM radio, black-painted bumpers, and 15″ aluminum wheels. This F-150 is offered by the selling dealer in California with a Ford warranty identification card, purchase documents, service records, a Standard Marti report, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title.
The body is finished in Candyapple Red (2K) with black and silver XLS graphics as well as a black-painted front grille, side mirrors, and bumpers. The Flareside bed features Ford lettering on the tailgate along with wood bed slats that are said to have been replaced in 2020. The seller notes various blemishes around the truck and paint meter readings taken from around the body are viewable in the gallery below.
Eight-hole 15″ aluminum wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cab features a bench seat upholstered in black cloth and vinyl with patterned inserts joined by black door panels and carpets. Brushed-aluminum trim adorns the dashboard, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM radio, and XLS badging. The air conditioning system was reportedly converted to utilize R134a refrigerant.
The two-spoke steering wheel features cruise control buttons and is mounted to a tilt column. Instrumentation consists of an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and additional gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles.
The 4.9-liter straight-six features a single-barrel carburetor and produced 115 horsepower and 223 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside images are shown in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan from its first entry in March 2004.
