calibration info & part #'s
Information and part #'s for the ignition and fuel systems on the Bullnose trucks.
Ford's Master Parts Catalog has a great deal of information regarding the various components that make up the ignition and fuel systems on the Bullnose trucks. This information is contained within the appropriate Calibration Parts List associated with the truck. However, there are about 500 parts lists for the Bullnose trucks, so it is helpful to have a way to find the right one.
CALIBRATION CODE: The best way to find the parts list number is with the "calibration code", which is on a sticker which was affixed to all the engines from 1981 onward, as explained on the Calibration Code page. Each calibration code is directly associated with a parts list #, and you can get that via the Calibration Code To Parts Lists Cross Reference Chart, which is on the tab labeled Cal Code to Parts List, below. Just go to that chart and use the instructions at the top of that tab to find your calibration code and the associated parts list number.
MODEL APPLICATION: But, by now many of the stickers are either missing or not legible, and if that is your case we will have to find another way to find the calibration code and, more importantly, its associated "parts list number". And that way is via the MODEL APPLICATION TO PARTS LIST CROSS REFERENCE CHART, which is on the tab labeled Application to Parts List below. Unfortunately there are usually several parts lists associated with any given pickup, so this approach isn't conclusive. But, it gets you pretty close.
EXAMPLE: Let's take an example of a 1984 2wd F150 w/a 300 six, manual transmission, and under 4000' emissions. If you go to the Application to Parts List tab and scroll down you'll find that there are four parts lists numbers that could apply to this truck: 352 - 355. And now you'll want to know what parts are in those parts lists. To do that go to the Parts Lists tab and follow the instructions there.
CARB PARTS: Once you've gone to the parts lists you'll soon realize that it gives you another number for the carb instead of a complete breakdown of what's in the carb. Never fear, there's another list that does break down each and every part in the carb. In our example of the 1984 truck the # for the carb is 95.1AT for all four parts lists: 352 - 355. So, we are going to get the right info for our carb, after all.
But to do that we are going to have to turn to a different page as I have the carburetor parts lists on the page for the respective carb, as shown below. (In the case of the example you'll want to click on the Carter YFA link.)

There are only 8 pages in this cross reference, and the calibration codes are listed sequentially so it is fairly easy to scroll down and find your calibration code and its associated parts list number. But, should you want to search for it you can pop the document out into another tab on your browser, do a Control+F, and then search for it.
This cross-reference is 33 pages long and it might be easier to search rather than scroll to find your application. To do that you can pop the document out into another tab on your browser, do a Control+F, and then search for it. But probably the easiest thing to search for is the year of your truck, and then scroll from there.
This document is 274 pages long, so it will be easiest to search rather than scroll to find your parts list, although they are in numeric order. To do that you can pop the document out into another tab on your browser, do a Control+F, and then search for it. But probably the easiest thing to search for is the year of your truck, and then scroll from there.
