Entrant #52: Kevin/Teach's F250 Lariat
Owner: Kevin "Teach" Baas
Location: Prior Lake, MN
Model: F250 Lariat
Engine: rebuilt 460
Driveline: 2wd
Upgrades: Gooseneck trailer hitch
Story: I recently picked this up from an old farmer close to where I teach high school shop class. I had admired the old Ford for a few years seeing it sitting in a tree line not being driven. I could tell from what I could see that it needed some TLC but wasn't driven in the winters here so the body was solid. After meeting the farmer and becoming friends with him, I spent a few times at his farm helping with projects on his tractors and did some welding for him. I mentioned over beers one night that if he ever wanted to sell the Ford I was interested. He said he didn't want to sell it but would keep me in mind if that day would come.
Well around a month ago he called me to say he wanted me to HAVE the truck, the only stipulation was that some day when he sells the farm and has to move his beloved tractors I would come back with the truck to haul them with his gooseneck trailer. I was floored that he wouldn't take any money but agreed 100% and hauled the truck home to get running. About two weeks ago I took the first road drive in the truck to the gas station to fill with fresh gas. I was super excited and called him to let him know the old truck was moving under its own power again. He was equally excited and then said well since you got it running and will help me someday haul my tractors I might as well give you the gooseneck trailer as well. So I picked that up last weekend.
I am excited to go through the truck's wiring to get everything sorted and back to working order and will slowly fix it up. This truck will only be driven in the summers so the body will not fall prey to the MN road salt and rust.
