fuel filler pipes
The illustrations below show the Bullnose filler necks/hoses vs the 1987 & later ones. But just in case you miss it:
- The Bullnose fillers have the fuel going down the main hose and the vent path is a small (3/4" I think) hose. This causes fuel pumps to trip off as the fuel can't go into the tank rapidly because the air cannot get out.
- The 1987 & later ones are reversed - fuel goes down a 1" tube and the entire outside hose is the vent path. This works much better as the air can get out and the pumps don't trip off as quickly.
