Entrant #18: Eric's F250 XLT Lariat
Owner: Eric Kasten/SVTDriver97
Location: Rosemount MN
Model: F250 XLT Lariat
Engine: 460 ci
Driveline: 4x4 C6
Upgrades: Recently rebuilt and refreshed a 1990 F350 Dana 60 Straight Axle, American Racing AR172 Baja polished rims and factory Ford rotors slotted and dimpled.
Story: I bought this truck back in April 2014 from a little dealership in Deerwood MN. The owner of the dealership bought it from the estate of the original owner. The truck has been a MN truck its whole life. The original owner bought it solely to haul around his camper in the bed, so he removed the tailgate when it was brand new and kept it off it's entire life. When I bought it, the tailgate looked brand new, still has the factory clear coat on it, it's also one of the rare tailgates that has the upgraded brushed aluminum panel that is similar to the 92-96 F series trucks. I am the 2nd owner of it and it has been well taken care of its whole life. It needed a tune up and a recharge of the AC and that was it until I had to replace both tanks. Other than that, it currently has 50k on it, and I just rebuilt and installed a Dana 60 Straight Axle from a 1990 F350. There is no rust on the body or frame and thanks to the aluminum steps he installed, the cab corners and cab floors are flawless.
My future plans will be a complete frame-off restoration, i'm going to bore and stroke the motor, lift it, and redo the entire wiring and fuel system on the truck to a brand new Holley EFI system along with some custom updates to the interior and dash. I will also be swapping the C6 to an E4OD as well.
