Entrant #23: NostraDanus' 1986 Bronco
Owner: Dan Heaman
Location: South Lyon, MI
Model: 1986 Ford Bronco XLT
Engine: 1995 Ford F-150 Lightning 5.8L
Driveline: Original AOD, T-case, 3.55 axles
Upgrades: Completely restored in 1998 including new front clip and tailgate plus remaining body from Texas, new paint, new, engine and rebuilt driveline. Kept as close to stock as possible with the exception of Lightning engine and Bronco II paint scheme
Story: I built this truck in 1998 exactly the way I wanted it. In 2005 I had my second kid on the way, the real estate meltdown was underway, and I needed money so the Bronco went up for sale on the front lawn with a ridiculous price on the sign. 10 minutes later, someone offered me full asking price and it was gone. In 2015 while immersed in a project at work, I received an email from an ex-coworker I hadn’t seen in 10 years with a link to that Bronco that I assumed was long gone for sale on Craigslist. It had changed hands and had only clocked 10,000 miles in the 10 years since I sold it. I bought it back that evening.
The vineyard picture was taken in Traverse City while I was dating my wife back in 2000.
