Entrant #30: Mehmetcelikel's Brownie Dually
Owner: Mehmet Celikel
Location: Naperville, IL
Model: 1983 F350 Custom 2WD Single Cab Dually
Engine: 460
Driveline: 4-speed T19 manual transmission, Dana 70 HD rear, 4.11 ratio
Upgrades: Stock except engine dress up, electronic ignition and trailer brakes
Story: Well, after owning a 67 Galaxie 500 Convertible 390 and a 95 OJ Bronco XLT 5.8 during my short life in US, I decided to buy this precious Brownie, as I am a big fan of Bullnose's and Dually's. All through its whole life, the truck was in Missoula, MT. After the original owner passed away on 2006, his son inherited the truck, which I bought from him in June 2020, right after the Covid lockdown. He was using the truck only for pulling some trees and his boat in summer time.
The truck was never been used in winter as it's 2WD and Dually! The paint, interior, engine, windows, everything is bone stock. You can even see the clay writings from the factory production line inside the engine bay. 460 runs great with original 90.000 miles on it, and on the body as well. No damage on clothing, no cracks on dashboard. 4 speed T19 with granny 1st works great.
Because of its wider wheelbase, I could not find a proper shipping company and decided to drive the truck all the way from Missoula, MT to Naperville, IL. So, with a 83 model 460 manual F350 with 4-barrel carb and no AC, flying to MT, driving the truck that you don,t know very well for 3 days and 2 nights all the way back to home, from Wyoming, South Dakota, and Iowa was too much fun, as you can imagine:) But it did a great job and I came 1600 miles without any issues. (Thanks God that it has dual fuel tanks!)
So, especially my daughter Beren and our Lab Sammy likes Brownie Dually too much.
