entrant #24: MarkF100's F100
Owner: Mark/MarkF100
Location: Mount Vernon, MO
Model: 1983 F100
Engine: 351C
Driveline: FMX on the way out, TCI AOD to go in
Upgrades: Full rebuild on the Cleveland coming up with Trick Flow heads, roller cam and lifters, pistons, rods... basically a full high performance build.
Story: I haven't been on the site for awhile due to work. Railroading never stops. That and work in the barn to get the cement poured. However, in between the hard stuff I have had a few moments of bliss and frustration with the old girl. As some of you know, from my intro a few months back, the guy I bought the truck from dropped a 351 Cleveland in her. I've owned this beautiful F100 since 2010. I haven't done much to it, other than kept it running. I put a MSD 6AL in her, new carburetor, head gaskets, Sanderson headers. That was some years back. As of the last two weeks, new 3 row aluminum radiator, fuel pump and, a double roller timing chain. Hooked her up and started to add coolant. Coolant dumped from the lower weep hole on the water pump. New Flow Kooler aluminum pump and ARP stainless bolts, harmonic balance and, timing cover arrived on Wednesday. Unfortunately I'm now in Louisiana working. So, now the it begins! The engine will be pulled within a few months (waiting on the cement man to get his work done in my barn) and sent to the machine shop. Trick Flow heads, roller cam and lifters, pistons, rods... basically a full high performance build. As for the transmission, the old FMX has to go away. A TCI AOD is on the list. The rear end, per the tag, came from a 1972 pick up. It is a 9 inch with 3.25 gearing. Depending on the cam I decide to use, these might be good to go. Slowly collecting interior components to get her to show room condition. Body needs minimal work. Cowl induction hood will be added as well as new paint. Will remain black but with silver racing stripes. Can't go fast without them. With all of that said, this is my entry.
