Entrant #35: Dan aka dblohowiak's 1986 F250HD
Owner: Dan Blohowiak
Location: Vashon, WA USA
Model: 1986 F250HD XLT LARIAT 2wd Extended Cab Long Bed
Engine: 7.5L 460 V8, Edelbrock Performer 460 Intake Manifold
Driveline: Sterling 10.25” C5 rear Axel, 4.10 ratio
Upgrades: New Bilstein shocks, headlight relay harness & halogen lamps, new water pump, master cylinder, thermostat housing & battery. New rear gas tank, sending unit (NOS), and fuel tank selector valve(NOS), New complete Moog front tie rods
Story: After a windstorm knocked over a tree that destroyed my Wife and I’s prior vehicles, we inherited this from my Father, who was for all intents and purposes the second owner (my Uncle bought it from the original owner, but never drove it) The truck has become my passion project, and being the same age as me, 34, I feel a special connection to it. I have every service record and oil change since new on paper, which is a fun history of what has broken and been repaired over the years. For example, this will be the third time the fuel tank selector valve has been replaced. It’s a favorite at every shop I’ve taken it to, and I get a lot of comments. Future work is respraying the exterior paint (it’s thin up near the bed rails, and past saving on the roof) and minor odds and ends. It’s our only car and driven daily, everything works perfect, starts on the first crank and runs like a top. Please excuse all the apocalyptic wildfire smoke in the photos.
