n800486
N800486, shown below, is a 3/4" long #8 sheet metal screw with a special washer under the head that spins in the trim panel. In fact it is frequently called a "trim panel screw". However, it is hard to find new. Some say Ford changed over to N800942, and their 2004 Standard & Utility Parts Catalog says that is 4.2mm in diameter. Oddly enough, that's .170", and a #8 screw is .164". And the N800942 is said to be 19mm long, which is .750". So it does seem that the N800942 might be the guy.
Unfortunately I don't yet have a source for this screw. But it is used on kick panels, windshield interior moulding, rear corner trim, and map pockets.
